Course Description
This 8-hour tactical medicine course teaches the basic medical care interventions, which can save an injured officer or victims’ life until they can be assisted by conventional EMS. It uses the principles of Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) and meets or exceeds the Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (C-TECC), EMSA and Title 22 guidelines. This course also meets the training standards set forth in various statutes as amended under AB 1598 (2014). The TECC skills covered will be: Phases of Care Tourniquets, Hemostatic Agents, Airway Management, Chest Seals, Wound Care, Head Injuries, Traumatic Hypothermia, Emergency Moves and rescues. This course includes hands-on skills development and demonstration through simulated scenarios.
