Dave Culver

Dave began his professional career working in the hospitality industry, managing restaurants and health clubs and developing a deep understanding and appreciation of what it means to provide excellence in customer service. In 2008, Dave attended the Law Enforcement Academy and began a career in what he believed was a calling of public service. Over the last 16 years, Dave has earned a POST Management Certification and his BA in Criminal Justice. He has worked for two California law-enforcement agencies on the central coast and had the opportunity to work on various specialty assignments as a training officer, a member of the SWAT team, a special victim’s detective, an instructor for various disciplines, and he currently service is department as a Police Commander. Dave believes that the most fulfilling part of his career has been the opportunity to teach and mentor new officers in the law enforcement profession. He has also been a part-time faculty instructor at the local law enforcement Academy for the past five years. One of Dave’s core beliefs is that if you are not constantly striving to better yourself and those around you, then you are not helping to advance the profession. There is no greater accomplishment than helping those around you achieve their full potential. 

I’m honored to be part of the Public Safety Development Group, and be able to provide a service to our first responders as they continue to grow and develop their professional careers, providing the absolute best service possible to our communities.
